On March 18th, 2019 the Horrorverse lost a living legend amongst Directors, Writers, and Special Effects Artists...John Carl Buechler.

If no one knows who he is and what his work is here is a summary...

Director of

Make-Up Work for

Yes that is right! John Carl Buechler did the special effects for Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger!

His contributions to the horror genre is met with just more than his writing and director credits its his talent as an artist that help cement him in the legendary status that he had left behind and believe me he left behind a legacy of Horror fans who love his work and he left a legacy with his family who will keep his memory alive.

For everyone who isnt a Friday the 13th fan would know is that its because of his persistence to have Horror Icon Legend, Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees for Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood and at first the company didnt want Kane due to Height difference but after John paid out his own pocket to have Kane test screened, He (Kane) had won them over and saw why John wanted him.

Years later Kane and John became friends their friendship is what most would wish for as their chemistry on and off the set can be seen at Conventions.

In March on the 18th of 2019 the Friday the 13th and the Horror Community was given the worse news with him passing of Stage 4 Cancer, I remeber breaking down after work in disbelief because it was so unreal and since I planned on doing a Part 7 Jason cosplay the same year...Now I can never show him just how much of a big legacy he had left in us young fans.

My heart and wishes goes out to his Wife, and children because to lose someone is a pain that isnt so easily nullified.

Its been 3-Years since he passed...

THANK YOU JOHN CARL BUECHLER! YOUR WORK IN THE HORRORVERSE CANT EVER BE REPLICATED! YOU DESERVE ALL THE PRAISE AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM NOW AND IN THE FUTURE!
