Did anyone feel that they made Jason a hero in this film? Lori helps Jason though he killed a majority of her friends.

Seemed like they were almost trying to get Jason to be their partner lol

I wouldn't say Hero as much I'd say he was portrayed as the lesser of two evils. The Director definitely seemed to want you to sympathize with him more. Probably because sympathizing with a child killer is damn near impossible.

I agree that he was the lesser of two evils, especially seeing as how Freddy was trying to get back into people's dream state. At least, that's how I remember the movie. I haven't seen it in years.

There's nothing I like better than a villain helping the heroes, even if it's unwilling. Jason was their only real weapon against Freddy and everyone rooted for him because he was the underdog. He was bigger, stronger, and more damage resistant, but Freddy was proof that cunning and intelligence were more dangerous, plus I believe Friday the 13th is more popular than nightmare, or Jason is at least more popular than Freddy

Yeah pretty much this LOL Jason was definitely the lesser of the two in terms of Pure Evil.
