I find it interesting that even though Charles has no idea what Jason looks like he fully believes it;s Jason

"You You it's not possible!" even if he doesn't fully believe it's Jason he still does even though he would have no idea what Jason looks like.

I find that a interesting take

The mind is always racing in threatening situations or situations that you can't control.

Charles was probably too scared for his life to piece everything together.
